Premium SMS is a short text message that allows the customer to pay the price of goods or services via their mobile phone. This could be to pay for a ticket, vote in a competition, buy a game or an e-book.

Here, the mobile operator only acts as a payment intermediary between the customer and the merchant, as the customer's payment is made through the mobile service bill. The cost is deducted from the customer's credit in the case of a prepaid card or included in the monthly bill under Third Party Services in the case of a flat rate tariff.

Premium SMS are sent to special numbers
that have their own series of prefixes starting with 90.This includes Donor SMS or DMS, with the prefix 87777.
